National Girl Child Day celebrated in Rajouri with Focus on Education, Empowerment and Health
RAJOURI, JANUARY 24: National Girl Child Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Rajouri under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa presided over the event.
The celebration aimed to raise awareness about girl education, health, and empowerment. District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the need for a supportive environment for girls to thrive.

Ashfaq Lone from DALSA emphasized the legal protections under the PC-PNDT Act, ensuring the welfare of the girl child.
The Principal of GHSS Rajouri underscored the transformative power of education for girls and its role in shaping a progressive society.

A skit and dance competition presented by students from GGHSS and Parisha captivated the audience and conveyed empowering messages about the rights and importance of girls.
The event showcased the district administration’s dedication to promoting gender equality and recognizing the achievements of women and girls in diverse spheres. Key attendees included TSO Rajouri Kabir Hussain, Chairperson CWC Preeti Santhal, Administrator OSC for Women Nitu Sharma, and DHEW Nazma Sheikh, among others.
