Narine frees the rest of us: Salt lauds ‘very chill’ KKR allrounder

Kolkata, May 14 Phil Salt heaped praise on Sunil Narine, who has been absolutely stupendous for KKR in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Knights have already made their way through to the playoffs on the back of some incredible performance for Narine both in the batting and bowling departments. In 12 games, Narine has racked up 461 runs at an average of 38.41 and a strikerate of 182.93 with a century and 3 fifties to his name. He racked up a century against RR at the Eden Gardens, although his efforts went in vain. The veteran has also picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 6.63, which is incredible given the batting- friendly pitches in the ongoing T20 tournament. Salt lauded Narine before the clash between the Knights and the Titans on Monday, May 13 at the NarendraModi Stadium in Ahmedabad. “Our point of difference is we’ve got Sunny. He’s like playing with 13 players with his skill with bat and ball. So that really frees the rest of us to play the way we want to. Sunny is very chill, as am I in the middle. We know what we do well and we remind each other of that. Hopefully we can keep it going,” Salt told before the clash. Earlier, KKR became the first team to advance to the playoffs after they beat 5- time champions MI by 18 runs at the Eden Gardens. Salt explained how their mentor GautamGambhir has motivated them “It is big for us. Chat before the game today was about not letting up, turn up with the right attitude. GG has been pretty solid with how he wants us to play as a team. He stressed on us to come here and still look for two points,” Salt added.
