Dublin, May 13 Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammed Rizwan explained how he does not focus on his impressive batting average in the T20I format, and rather focusses on his overall performance for his national side. Rizwan is one of only two batters in the format who boasts a batting average above 50 with his figures of 50.38, inches behind iconic India batter Virat Kohli's 51.8. Rizwan played a key role in his side's 2nd T20I win over Ireland on May 12, which drew both sides level at 1-1 in their ongoing 3-match series. Rizwan's unbeaten 75 runs off 46 balls knock alongside Fakhar Zaman's 78 off 40 balls knock, played a pivotal role in guiding Pakistan to a crucial win by 7 wickets over Ireland at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin. Chasing 194 against Ireland, Rizwan and Zaman held the Pakistan side together after the early dismissals of Saim Ayub and their skipper Babar Azam. Rizwan's decisive innings saw him extend his impressive form in format, which has now seen him score 327 runs in his last 9 T20I innings. The Pakistan vicecaptain is already eyed as one of the key batters in the side, which will bring a lot of focus on his skills during their upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. Speaking at the post-match press-conference, Rizwan gave insight on how he focusses on his game rather than paying heed to his personal figures, while reflecting on Pakistan's performance against Ireland. "If you look at the whole match, they played really well. So have to credit them guys. Chasing 194 is not easy as Ireland know the conditions and they gave difficult time early on but we decide to attack and this is why we were successful.
