Er Abha Gupta/ Pooja Thakur Jammu, Jan 20 Q: Please share with us your experiences from” “Geetiyan” to Pollution Control Board Information Officer? A: I belong to Rajouri. I did my college from Jammu University. As a teenager I always wanted to become an actor. I used to watch a lot of movies and was inspired by lot of Bollywood actors including Amitabh B a c h c h a n , Naseeruddin Shah and many others. I did a lot of shows during my school days and college days. Q: What kind of support you got from your parents? A: Every parent must explore the capacity and capability of their children. My parents were very qualified and they knew what was my interest. My parents have always supported me and I want that every parent should support their children. Q: When did you faced camera for first time? A:For the first time I faced camera with Jammu Doordarshan and Kashmir Doordarshan. That was my first workshop. I did my first movie in Mumbai and its name was Ruslaam. That movie was with the daughter of the famous Bollywood actress Moushumi Chatterjee. I did a lot of serials in Zee TV and and Kashmir. After that I did my movie “Geetiyan” which was made in Jammu. The movie was in Dogri and I am well conversed with Dogri language. For an artist language is not a constraint. Q: Your movie was shot in Jammu, share your experiences of shooting a movie in your hometown? A: The movie was based in 80s when there was a gang which was active in Jammu. There were lot of local goondas who were operational that time. The movie is based on this theme. Q: How you maintain balance between your professional life and your passions? A: It is not so difficult to make a balance because the projects for acting come rarely and whenever there are some projects we get leaves from our department. Our department is very cooperative and they allow us to follow our passions. Q: What kind of support you got from your family? A: An artist has no expiry date. I give credit to my family and my friends for making me the person I am. Q: Tell us something about your movie Gang War, 84. A: Gang War 84 is directed by a director from Punjab. I have a negative role in this movie. I am very comfortable in doing the negative roles. I wish that people like my role. The Message which I want to give to the youngsters is that follow your passion, drugs are no solution.
