𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟲: During routine patrolling and checking on the 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶 track ahead of the upcoming Navratra festival, District Police Reasi detected a case of impersonation at Ban Ganga Bridge near Bathing Ghat.

Around 1700 hours, the police stopped a person who was working as a Pithu (porter) and asked him to produce his license or authorization card. Upon questioning, the individual identified himself as Talib Hussain R/O Saldhar, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.

However, when his Pithu card was examined, the photograph on the card did not match his appearance. Sensing something amiss, the police asked him for additional identification. He then produced an Aadhaar card, which revealed that his real name was Tariq Hussain R/O Saldhar, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.

Since the individual was impersonating someone else and using another person’s authorized Pithu card without proper permission to operate on the Shir Mata Vaishno Devi track.

In this regard, 𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗜𝗥 𝗡𝗼. 𝟳𝟵/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗨/𝗦 𝟯𝟭𝟵/𝟮𝟮𝟯 𝗕𝗡𝗦 has been lodged at Police Station Katra and further investigation into the matter is underway.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 remains committed to maintaining Law & Order and ensuring the safety & security of pilgrims visiting the holy shrine during Navratras and beyond. Strict vigilance and patrolling will continue on the track to prevent any unlawful activities.
