Poonch Police Seize 20 Grams of Heroin in Mandi Jurisdiction

In a significant operation aimed at curbing the menace of drug trafficking, the Poonch Police have successfully recovered 20 grams of heroin within the jurisdiction of Police Station Mandi.
2. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a police team conducted a search operation in the Kalani Bridge of Mandi. During the operation, the team intercepted a suspect and, upon thorough examination, recovered 20 grams of heroin like substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Inam Ul Haq S/o Khadam Hussain R/o Dhundak has been taken into custody for further investigation.
3. This recovery underscores the commitment of the Poonch Police to eliminating drug-related activities in the region. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway to uncover the source of the contraband and identify any possible links to larger drug networks.
4. SSP Poonch commended the swift action of the police team and reiterated the department's zero-tolerance policy toward drug-related crimes. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station to help maintain peace and security in the region.
