Jammu Kashmir Police Organizes Nukkad Natak at Historical Jhiri Mela to Promote Anti-Drug Awareness.

Jammu, 23-11-2024

The Jammu Police organized a *nukkad natak (street play)* at the ongoing historic Jhiri Mela as part of their anti-drug awareness campaign. The event drew a crowd of approximately 200-250 attendees and was chaired by *SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, JKPS, along with the presence of SP Rural Jammu, SDM Marh, SDPO Domana,* and officers from the civil administration.

The program emphasized the urgent concern of *drug addiction in society*
particularly its impact on the youth. Through engaging performances and deliberations, the event sought to educate the public about the *adverse effects of drug abuse* and encouraged collective efforts to combat this growing menace.

At the *sacred site of Baba Jitto and Bua Kouri,* attendees came together to take a *pledge to reject drug use and support a zero-tolerance approach towards drugs,* reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free society.

The initiative was widely appreciated by the general public, who lauded the *Jammu Police* for selecting *Jhiri Mela* a gathering attended by people from all parts of India for such a *noble cause.* This outreach effort reinforced the importance of spreading awareness and fostering a healthier, addiction-free community.
