DIGP RP Range Holds Crime Review Meeting & Discusses Implementation of New Criminal Laws in Poonch

Poonch, 06 March 2025:

Sh. Tajinder Singh, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch Range, chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting with SDPOs and SHOs of District Poonch at the Conference Hall, District Police Line, Poonch.

The meeting was attended by SSP Poonch Sh. Shafket Hussain, JKPS, Addl SP Poonch, SP Ops Poonch, SDPO Mendhar, SDPO Surankote, Dy.SP Hqrs Poonch, Dy.SP Ops Poonch, Dy.SP DAR Poonch, Private Secretary to DIGP RP Range, along with all SHOs of District Poonch and RPHQ/DPO staff.

Agenda of the Meeting:
Implementation of New Criminal Laws – Discussion on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
Crime Review & Investigation – Speedy disposal of under-investigation cases, including UAPA and NDPS cases.
Law & Order & Counter-Terrorism Measures – Strengthening of intelligence networks at police station levels and enhancing CI operations.
Drug Trafficking & Public Grievance Redressal – Emphasis on taking strict action against drug peddlers and ensuring timely resolution of public grievances.
Traffic Management – Streamlining traffic enforcement measures.
Welfare of Jawans – Addressing issues related to the well-being and operational efficiency of police personnel.
Key Directives Issued:
Officers were instructed to thoroughly familiarize themselves with New Criminal Laws (BNS, BNSS, BSA) and ensure timely disposal of cases under investigation.
SHOs were directed to enhance the real-time uploading of data in CAS-CCTNS and make optimum use of CCTNS-connected portals for effective case management.
A special focus was laid on CI operations, fortification of intelligence networks, and strengthening perimeter security at police installations, especially at vulnerable locations.
Fixed monthly, fortnightly, weekly, and daily targets were assigned to SHOs for better law enforcement and crime control.
The meeting concluded with directions from DIG RP Range to ensure proactive policing and strengthen law enforcement mechanisms across District Poonch.
