District Police Poonch Conducts Awareness Meeting with Auto-Rickshaw Drivers on Drug Abuse
Poonch, 15-02-2025 – In a proactive step towards curbing drug abuse, District Police Poonch organized an awareness meeting with auto-rickshaw drivers and owners of the town. The initiative aimed to educate them about the dangers of drug abuse and their role in maintaining a drug-free society.
The meeting is chaired by DySP Hqrs Poonch on the directions of *Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Sh Shafket Hussain JKPS*. In the meeting he emphasized the adverse effects of drug consumption and trafficking, urging auto-rickshaw drivers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. They were also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in drug-related offenses.
“We believe that raising awareness in all sections of society including auto rikshaw drivers is crucial in our collective fight against drug abuse. These vulnerable groups are often at a higher risk of falling prey to addiction, and it is our duty to empower them with knowledge and support,” said the *Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch.*
The District Police reiterated their commitment to making Poonch a safer and drug-free place and sought the active cooperation of the community in this mission. Such awareness drives will continue to strengthen the fight against drug abuse in the region.
