VG: The state is undergoing severe turmoil after increase in terror incidents, what you suggests the people?
NS: Really, this is matter of grave concern that the state is undergoing a severe turmoil as the number of terror incidents has recorded marginally. Kashmir is the abode of great Sufi saints whose teachings have always preached mutual coexistence, brotherhood and peace. The need of the hour is to follow the teachings of these great saints for leading an emancipated life devoid of strife and conflict.
VG: What you think, who is behind such incidents in valley?
NS: Main reason behind the increase in the terror incidents in the involvement of local youth, who are being misled by some leaders. To bring back the youth on track, these teachings are more relevant in today’s context where the world is torn by conflict and mutual distrust between different communities and nations. The teachings of these seers and saints need to be propagated especially among the younger generation some of whom are being misled by the vicious propaganda of those having nefarious designs of trying to create chasm between different sections of society and plunge the world into an era of chaos and confusion.
VG: Despite your efforts Shri Mata Sukrala Devi Ji Shrine and Shri Mata Bala Sundri Ji Shrine are still being neglected in development, why?
NS: The government is committed to develop every shrine in the state and in this regard, I have directed the officers for time bound completion of all the developmental and infrastructural works of the shrines. "A proper supervision of functioning of boards must be ensured to move ahead on the way of development of these shrines.
I further have directed the concerned officers to visit the shrines and submit status report of various developmental works at regular intervals. It is the duty of officers to take necessary steps to ensure proper management of the assets at the shrines.
VG: What steps has been taken by the government to boost the tourism in these shrines?
NS: We ensure that all the requisite facilities should be provided to the devotees coming to pay their obeisance at Shri Mata Sukrala Devi and Mata Bala Sundri Ji shrines. The Government is working with the vision to boost religious tourism in the State and to bring it to reality; comprehensive efforts are underway to ensure the development of various religious places and shrines across the State.
In this regard we also constituted a committee to supervise the working of the Shrine Boards and also directed to fix the responsibilities on the officers. Appropriate arrangements will be made for the comfort of old and disabled devotes travelling to the shrines.
