Jammu, June 17
VG: Despite starting many development projects in state, people are complaining about to get basic amenities, why?
KG: This is true that the state government with the help of cetnre government has started many big and prestigious projects. The government is committed to provide better basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps. To fulfill our promises various development activities have been launched across the state to provide safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the state.
VG: People hailed from urban area, waiting for the government action to fulfill their demands. What is the plan with government to meet their demands? KG: The government is committed to equip the urban peripheral areas of the state with all basic facilities like road connectivity, drinking water, power, education healthcare, besides better lanes and drains. In this regard, the government has prepared a comprehensive plan to fulfill all the aspirations of the people of these areas, he added. I want to make the people assure that with the starting of this work, the long pending demand of the people of the area has been redressed. Meanwhile, necessary instructions have been passed to the concerned engineers to complete the works within stipulated time frame. I also wanted to ask the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas. Without their cooperation, the government’s objective of taking state’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
An effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes.
VG: People alleges delay in some development works, is there any shortage of funds with the government?
KG: Government has started many development projects in state and has also directed the concerned officers to personally monitor the quality of execution of the work. There should be no compromise on quality. The government would create durable assets in the state under core sectors for this purpose there was no constraint of funds.
I wanted to assure the people that all their genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest. Present dispensation is working tirelessly to benefit the common masses through several developmental initiatives being executed in the state, besides augmenting the existing infrastructure of numerous sectors of the government.
