VG: JMC is busy with many big and mega projects, what is the progress of those projects?
RK: This is true that the JMC is busy with some big and mega projects, we are trying our best so that all these projects should be completed on time.
In this regard I took a review meeting of the Engineering Wing wherein a detailed functioning of ongoing works was discussed.
While reviewing the progress on various fronts, I stressed upon timely completion of works under various heads viz. IHHL, Plan, Non-Plan, CDF etc and further asked the Engineering Wing of JMC to complete the developmental works on war footing.
I have further directed the Joint Commissioner (W) to personally monitor all the works being carried out by JMC under different schemes, especially the mega projects and flagship programmes, and also directed to furnish the list of all the works including their status. He was further directed to expedite the issuance of tender on time bound basis in respect of works administratively approved.
VG: Beautification of rotaries is always a big issue, and still JMC has failed to solve this issue?
RK: I think that the rotaries are the face of every city and with this concept; we have started our work to maintain and beautify these rotaries. Meanwhile, I wanted to share here that work to beautify some rotaries with plantation drives, painting their border grills has been started already by us and within one month time, not all but some of the main rotaries should be given new look.
VG: JMC has launched to project to make wall painting, what is the motive behind that project?
RK: As a part of various initiatives launched by Jammu Municipal Corporation to enhance the beautification in various parts of Jammu City, a wall painting project was also started by the JMC. This was launched in collaboration with J&K Bank. The theme of the wall painting competition is Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart City Jammu, Nature & Environment, Social Message, Art, Culture & heritage of Jammu etc.
