DIGITAL SERVICES IN J&K

YB WEB DESK. Dated: 2/13/2023 12:21:30 PM

Jammu and Kashmir has brought 400 services in online mode in Jammu and Kashmir. This will allow people to access the government services of different departments online, thereby reducing the offline process-the need for visiting the offices physically. In the process, J&K has become the first UT in the country to implement such a robust system and is expected to be a game changer as it empowers the citizens and would go a long way in curbing delays in providing services to citizens, weed out red tapism, inefficiency, lethargy and culture of apathy and impunity. In a short span of two years, J&K has taken a giant leap to create a user-centric service delivery system and paperless administrative functions through e-Office. Technology has redesigned the rules and procedures bringing accountability and transparency in the system and enabling us to provide services more effectively and efficiently. Under National e-governance Project (NeGP), e-Governance means inclusiveness, people first, strengthening trust with citizens, establishing real-time grievance redressal mechanism, bridging the digital divide, enhancing ease of doing business & ease of living and enabling the citizens to transparently provide feedback on their experience of public services. With the active support of the government, many of the online services have been integrated with the quality check and feedback seeking mechanism of RAS. The services are also being boarded on the digital portal of e-UNNAT, Service Plus and DigiLocker for the ease and free access of the general public. Notably, the government recently inaugurated the integration of Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) portal having Auto-Appeal System feature with the e-UNNAT to provide a major impetus to transparent, citizen friendly and efficient governance. With this step, the J&K government has now integrated the online dashboard (https://aas.jk.gov.in) for all citizen centric services available on e-Unnat Portal, as per the provisions of PSGA .
