GOVT’S ACTION AGAINST TERRORISM

The authorities in Kashmir sealed nine properties including a school building belonging to banned Jamaate-Islami shows the commitment of the government to act against the terror supporters in Jammu and Kashmir. Although post scrapping of Article 370 incidents of violence has been reduced in the Union Territory, but still some organisations are supporting the terror groups to create law and order problem. However the government especially UT administration has acted tough against the Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and terror group. During last two years, Union Territory Administration has taken drastic steps to curb anti-India narrative. Jammu and Kashmir has taken several steps to curb the network of the over ground workers who help the terrorists to carry out the attacks. Several steps have been taken to expose the modules and as per the intelligence agencies, desperate Pakistani is making every effort to vitiate peace in J&K. The Government of India has already declared the JeI, Jammu and Kashmir as an “unlawful association” in February 2019. As per the order, State Investigation Agency (SIA), nine properties have surfaced that are owned by and under possession of banned association Jamaat-e-Islami and are located in the jurisdiction of district Shopian and are to be notified in terms of section 8 UA(P) Act. By virtue of notification issued by the Central Government coupled with notification issued by the J&K Government and powers vested in him in terms of section 8 of UA(P) Act, the District Magistrate ordered restriction on these nine properties by any person(s), association(s) or legal entity other than investigating officers of SIA for the purpose of investigation and police officers having jurisdiction for the purpose of enforcing the usage related prohibition and restrictions. The SIA has identified as many as 188 JeI properties across Jammu and Kashmir which are to be notified during the further course of action to be undertaken
