Woman alleges rape and threat by contractor in Delhi

New Delhi, Sept 25 A 38-year-old woman in Delhi alleged that she was raped and threatened by a man who works as a contractor in a multinational company in South Delhi.On rumours that the accused had an affiliation with a political party, the Delhi Police said that the complainant did not allege any political pressure in the FIR. However, after an investigation, police did not find the accused's involvement with any political party.In a statement, the Delhi Police said, “A case has been registered against Jaiprakash Pandey, who is a contractor of construction at a site in South Delhi. The victim has not levelled any allegation of political pressure”.The cases against Jaiprakash have been registered under Section 376 (committing rape), 328 (causing hurt using a poisonous substance), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 508 ( doing anything which a person is not legally bound by) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
