International Sanskrit day celebrated in a Grand Program

YB News Jammu,Aug 07 In connection with International Sanskrit Day, a grand function was organized by Shri Kailakh jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan trust,here today for highlighting the importance of Sanskrit language at kisan bhawan Gole Puli Talab tillo jammu.The function, which commenced with the chanting of Vedic Mantra, was presided over Padma Shri Professor R. K Sinha ji Vice Chancellor,SMVDU Katra, Professor J. P Sharma (SKUAST-J), Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, former minister and presently VicePresident, BJP, Jammu and Kashmir, DIG Mr. Shakti Pathak (IPS) Director, SSF Raj Bhavan, Jammu Kashmir, Mr. K.K. Sharma ji Director, Agriculture Department Jammu, Professor Madan Mohan Jha, Director, Central Central Sanskrit University, Shree Ranbir Campus, Jammu, Mr. RK Chhibber ji Member, Board of Directors, J&K Bank were special guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, Prof. R K Sinha appealed people to make maximum use of Sanskrit language both at home and outside. He regretted that Sanskrit language was getting least priority in our day today life. “Even though Sanskrit is known as the first Indian language, which developed several other branches like Tamil, Hindi, etc, unfortunately the use of Sanskrit in our day to day life has become extremely limited,” he said. Sh.Sham Lal Sharma ex minister said that the community should make all out efforts to promote Sanskrit language, which is basics of all the lan guages. He said that in order to promote Sanskrit language it should be made mandatory for the students from class 1st onwards so that they remain attached with this language. He further said that the efforts should be made to start educating Sanskrit language to our children at home and only then we can advise others to use this language. DIG Sh.Shakti Pathak said that learning Sanskrit language helps in sharpening the brain and to get the knowledge about ancient books and scriptures which are primarily written in Sanskrit language. He said that Sanskrit Diwas was first celebrated on the Shrawan Purnima Tithi in the year 1969 with the aim of increasing Sanskrit’s popularity. Prof.J P Sharma expressed his thoughts on the occasion and revealed that, this event will boost the morale of Sanskrit lovers and appeals to remain united and to work for the preservation of their culture and their moral values. Mahant Rohit Shastri, head of Srikailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, said that the script of Sanskrit language is Devanagari script. This language was chosen by the sages to compose the mantras because the pronunciation of the words of this language was very effective for generating proper vibrations in the brain. The Vedas appeared in this language, and the Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranas were composed. Sanskrit literature is the richest literature in the human history and the main reason for organizing this program is.
