MIR YASEEN Srinagar, Aug 7 The indefinite strike of the PM package and Non-PM package employees enters 87th day today as they raised slogans in favour of their legitimate demand of relocation outside the Kashmir valley. The irked Kashmiri Pandit package employees held impressive protest demonstrations at various transit camps in Kashmir valley and reiterate their prime demand of relocation to Jammu. The leaders of the package employees have emphasized that the ground situation for the working of PM package employees is neither conducive nor feasible in Kashmir. Holding National Flags in their hands, the agitating employees were demanding the Right to Life as guaranteed by Article-21 of the constitution and thus were demanding their survival and safety. Meanwhile, one of the protesting package employee said that the LG administration should utilize the services of the package employees in the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner& 39;s Migrant office Jammu and its relief counters. The agitating package employees further stated that they will continue their sit in protest till the centre government and LG administration agrees to concede their relocation demand. However, only a day earlier, with an aim to provide convenience of delivery of services and on-spot redressal of grievances to Kashmiri migrants, department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction department, organized an interactive session and grievance redressal camp for Kashmiri migrants in Mumbai. During the interactive Secretary, DMRRR, Nazim Zai Khan said that interaction has been organized with an aim to have firsthand account of all the issues of Migrants, listen to their suggestions and inputs for their welfare. During the session, various issues pertaining to the welfare of Kashmiri migrants were discussed in detail and the Secretary assured the participants of timely resolution of all of their issues and concerns. It is ironic that authorities could not listen to voice of agitating PM Package employees but are pretending to serve migrants at far flung stations. Administration should come forward with courage to listen the problems of people and try to solve their legitimate issues.
