New Delhi, July 18 Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, on Monday, July 17, uploaded a video and expressed gratitude to the ones who have stayed by his side through thick and thin. On Sunday, Pandya won the Player of the Series award after India defeated England 2-1 in the three-match ODI series. In the third and final ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester, Pandya scored a 55-ball 71 and picked up four crucial wickets of Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler. In his first spell, Pandya had picked up two wickets and conceded only two runs off four overs at an economy rate of 0.50. However, he didn’t get the Player of the Match award as Rishabh Pant’s maiden century in ODIs stole the show. In the video, Hardik also talked about the hard yards he has tried to put in to represent his country at the highest level. Hardik captioned the video and wrote, “Through the ups and downs, with my people by my side. Woke up every morning raring to go, with the will to become stronger, with the will to become fitter and play for my country. Always grateful to those who stood by me, who encouraged me, who guided me.” Last year, Hardik lost his place in the Indian team after he faltered in the T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE. However, the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) turned around his fortunes for him. He won the Player of the Match award in the final after Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
