11 Cadets of Sainik School Nagrota clear NDA Written Examination

YB News Jammu,June 20 Sainik School Nagrota was inaugurated on 22 Aug 1970 by the then Defence Minister, Shri Babu Jagjivan Ram. It is one of the oldest Sainik Schools established by the Ministry of Defence. Presently there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools functioning across the country under the aegis of the Sainik Schools Society (SSS) which is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Union Public Service Commission conducted the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA) Examination (I) 2022 all over India on 10 Apr 2022. Sainik School Nagrota (SSN) has achieved the 11th rank amongst all 33 Sainik School with total 11 cadets qualifying in the above examination. These cadets will appear for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview soon. The recommended candidates will be called, as per merit, for joining the 149th course at NDA and 111th course at the INA, Ezhimala commencing in Jan 2023. Principal of the School Captain (IN) AK Desai congratulated the Cadets, parents and staff of the school for breaking the shackles of challenges posed by the COVID pandemic and successfully qualifying in the UPSC examination. In his interaction with the Cadets, the Principal reminded them that "In Nagrota all roads lead to NDA/ INA and we shall leave no stone unturned in achieving the primary aim of preparing Cadets for officer entries into the Armed Forces”. The school has excelled in her primary role as a feeder institution to the Armed Forces and has over 800 ex-Nagrotians as officers in the Armed. A large number of alumni are IAS, IPS officers, Doctors and Engineers serving not only in J&K but all over the country
