Army commences Stitching Classes

YB News Ramban,May 19 In an effort to boost financial independence among ladies in rural regions through self employment, the Indian Army is organising a 30 day long free stitching class for the women of Hijua village located in a remote part of Ramban district of J&K. The program is aimed at improving the economic conditions and helping the women earn livelihood through self employment. A total of 35 women will be undergoing the stitching course for a duration of 45 days starting from 18 May to 30 June 2022. The vocational course will also provide opportunity of employment to the hired trainer who was selected from the village and hails from economically humble background. This initiative is aimed at empowerment among the trainees by way of imparting them a skill which would help them to pursue an independent vocation and in turn make them confident, independent and self reliant. The beneficiaries mainly include from poor financial background.
