Kanpur, Jan 20 In an interesting incident, a software engineer currently living in the US saved his house in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh from being burgled after he got an alert on his phone through a hi-tech security system installed in his house which is linked to his phone. Late night on Monday, a few dacoits stormed the house of a software engineer, identified as Vijay mishra, a resident of Shyam Nagar Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. In an Exclusive conversation with India Today/Aajtak, Vijay Mishra said that he was having his dinner when he got an alert on his phone about some movement around his house through motion sensor cameras installed. At first he ignored a few alerts, thinking it might be because of the movement of cars outside his house. But after sometime, when the alerts didn't stop, he watched live visuals on his phone and was shocked to see a thief trying to break into his house. Vijay said, "I tried talking to him through my security system that also provides an outgoing voice option, but the thief didn't respond." Even after cutting the CCTV wires, Vijay's voice was still audible to the thief as he had connected the cameras with the electricity as well as with the battery. Vijay then alerted his brother Ashutosh, who also lives in the US, following which he tried to get in contact with the local police, neighbours and a local friend, who reached the spot and called the police. Appreciating the efforts of Kanpur Police who reached the spot with force in no time, Ashutosh said that the response of Kanpur Police was beyond their expectations. They co-ordinated with the family even when the encounter with the thieves was on.
