South Africa vs India: Rassie van der Dussen follows Temba Bavuma, hits 2nd ODI hundred in Paarl

New Delhi, Jan 19 Rassie van der Dusssen on Wednesday brought up his 2nd ODI hundred as he joined his captain Temba Bavuma in grounding an Indian bowling attack in the first of a 3-match ODI series in Paarl. Van der Dussen got to his hundred in just 83 balls as South Africa looked set to post a big total in the series opener. Rassie van der Dussen was proactive from the word go as he helped push the momentum of the South African innings after they opted to bat in the first ODI on a slow pitch at the Boland Park. van der Dussen hit 2 sixes and 8 boundaries as he kept the Indian attack at bay. Van der Dusssenn joined hands with captain Bavuima when South Africa were reeling at 68/3 in the 18th over. However, he kept the scoreboard moving, expertly playing R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, sweeping the two Indian spinners out of the attack in the middle overs. Van der Dussen and Bavuma added 204-run stand for the 4th wicket as they made the Indian attack look ordinary. van der Dussen finished with 129 not out on the board as he posted his highest total in ODI cricket. van der Dussen accelerated after getting to his hundred as he helped push the South African total to 296/4 in 50 overs in the first ODI. Meanwhile, van der Dussen and Bavuma became only the 3rd South African pair to hit a hundred each in an ODI against India. Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla hit a hundred reach against India.
