Army distributes sports equipment in govt schools

YB News Rajouri,Jan 19 Sports are an essential part of student life, which apart from making the youth robust and physically fit, also builds character and strong bonds of friendship amongst them. The Indian Army has a rich heritage of sports and has produced many sportsperson of repute. To give an impetus to sports in the Schools of the region, Indian Army distributed various sports equipment as part of its ongoing Sadbhavana initiative. The Schools covered through this event were theGirls Higher Secondary School, Sasalkote, Govt High School, Kallar and Govt High School, Doongi of Rajouri District. This initiative of the Indian Army would go a long way in uplifting the physical standards of the students, while inculcating a culture of games as an indelible part of the school’s educational curriculum. The equipment would also provide an opportunity to the students to learn and excel in a sporting discipline of their choice and conduct of competitive sport meets by the Schools. The event was highly appreciated by the students and teachers who expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army in providing them with a means to improve the standard of sports in their respective Schools.
