Army conducts lecture on women in armed forces

YB News Poonch,Jan 19 Indian Army in its pursuit towards women empowerment in the region conducted a lecture on Women in Armed Forces at the border Village of Salani of Poonch District. Women today are moving shoulder to shoulder with men in all fields including the Indian Armed Forces. Through the medium of this lecture, Indian Army educated the girls of the area regarding various career opportunities available to them in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, BSF, CRPF etc. Eligibility criteria for women through various entry schemes (both technical and non – technical), to include Combined Defence Services, NCC Special Entry, JAG Entry, Graduate UPSC, Short Service Commission amongst others were explained for the benefit of the attendees. An interactive session conducted as part of the lecture further clarified any persisting doubts. Indian Army also assured that any subsequent guidance and support required by the applicants for the various women related entry schemes would be forthcoming. The lecture was highly appreciated by all present and reinforced their resolve towards aspiring for a brighter future, while enthusing a sense of patriotism in them.
