YB News Jammu,Jan 19 Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Jana Yuva Morcha (JKBJYM) while expressing anguish has castigated the authorities of Cluster University of Jammu for compelling a Covid-19 positive student to appear in the offline examination. In a statement issued to media here today, Chetan Wanchoo, J&K BJYM Media Secretary, said that it is a matter of great concern that despite knowing the fact that the student was Covid-19 positive the concerned officials not only flouted the laid down Covid SOPs but also played with the lives of other students by compelling the infected student to appear in the examination conducted through offline mode. Condemning and questioning the highhandedness of the authorities especially that of the Controller of Examinations, Wanchoo said on one hand the Govt is asking Covid positive people to immediately go into isolation while on the other hand the authorities handling sensitive as well as important posts are deliberately going against the set directions resorting to arbitrary actions risking the lives of students. He warned that such kind of negligence amounts to dereliction of duty that cannot be tolerated at any cost. He said that there is no fault of the student as she appeared under compulsion to save her precious academic year. He said that the authorities failed to make necessary arrangements to save other students from the risk of getting infected. He said that since the concerned authorities have played with the precious lives of the students therefore the Govt must fix the officials liable for such dereliction.
