ER ABHA GUPTA Jammu, Jan 14 Q: What all have you done for the beautification of your Ward? A: My main aim is to make my ward the model Ward. As we all know that Jammu is heading towards smart city and my Ward is on the topmost list of development. Unfortunately the councillors are being ignored when there is some work going. Even in my ward even many times I am not aware of the development work. It is my humble request to Ms Avni Lavasa that whenever there is some development work carried out in any Ward, the respective counsellor must be aware of it. My ward is scattered in various directions on both sides of the Bridge. Initially I faced lot of issues because of scattered nature of my Ward. Because of Covid also, we have faced lot many hardships. But I feel proud in saying that I have built drains and streets which were not built from last 30 years. Other than this I am even constructing Park for the people. Public convenience toilets are also being made. Q: What is your prime focus for your Ward? A: My prime focus is to improve the drainage system of the areas. There are many congested areas and my focus will be to make them wider. 80% of the people of my Ward are poor, they are working on daily wages. There are many people who still do not have their BPL cards to avail the benefits of ration. Even the people are facing the issues of availing the pension benefits. So my prime focus will be to provide the BPL cards and to make the pension system smooth. I want to appeal to the people of my ward to cooperate with the counsellor. The team of councillors is very strong and they want to work for the people. The main issue we face is the funds. We want our funds to be increased so that we can work for the people. If we want to work for the people then corporators must be empowered. The main hindrance in our work is funds. I Wish and hope that we will be provided funds so that we can work for the people.
