Police arrested two notorious drug peddlers with heroin in another case

YB News Reasi, Sep 26 Continuing war against drug abuse under the banner EK YUDH, NASHE KE VIRUDH launched by District Police Reasi, today team of police station Reasi arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered banned drug heroin from their possession. During patrolling duty in Talwara area police team found two persons moving in suspicious circumstances, intercepted & asked them to stop. On noticing police party, accused tried to flee but arrested after chase . Accused Tabrez Hussain S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O ward no 7 Reasi and Sajjad Ahmed S/O Abdul Aziz ward no 8 Reasi were intercepted and searched them. During checking police party recovered banned Drug heroin like substance from their possession. On this both the accused arrested in case FIR no 191/2021 US 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Reasi against them. Investigations set in to unearth forward and backward linkages in this effort of drug peddling. Both the accused are notorious drug peddlers of the area and remained involved in supply of drugs to youth of Reasi. Tabrez was arrested in a drug peddling case FIR no 172 US 8/20/21/22 NDPS of Police Station Reasi on 01/09/2021 just four weeks back & bailed was out. History sheet will be opened & accused will be put under constant surveillance. Where as Sajjad involved in the business of selling banned Drugs and earlier arrested by Reasi Police on 13/07/2021 in case FIR no 144/2021 U/S 8/15/21/22/27/27-A/29 and 4/25 Arms Act. History sheet of the accused will be opened to keep his ill activities under surveillance. Police is in search of two more accused wanted in this case. War against drugs continue in Reasi under the banner “EK YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” an initiative of Sh Shailender Singh SSP Reasi against drug abuse is stretching to every nook and corner of the jurisdiction. In which Banned Drugs are being seized, and offenders are being brought to justice. Under the drive, Reasi Police registered 121 Case FIRs of drug abuse against 158 offenders since Mr Shailender took over the charge of SSP Reasi in ending March 2021. Mr Singh conveyed that drug abuse is a cause of concern for today's world and time has come that people from all sections of society should come forward and join hands with Police in the war against drug abuse to eradicate this menace from society and save our future generations. Further added that Reasi Police's War against drug abuse shall continue till the last nail in the coffin.
