4 arrested for sexually assaulting, threatening 13-year-old girl

Ariyalur, Sep 26 Four men were arrested for allegedly threatening and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions in the Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu. The victim was allegedly lured by one Ranjith who had befriended her, police said. According to police, Ranjith and his friends, Vijay Ramesh and Sathyaraj, sexually assaulted the girl multiple times and also threatened her. When the victim told her mother about the incident, the latter lodged a complaint with Jayankondam All Women Police. Based on the mother's complaint, all the four accused were arrested under the POCSO Act. All four were also charged under the Goondas Act and sent to Trichy prison after Jayankondam All Women Police Station Inspector Sumathi said they might cause hindrance to the investigation and might also involve in severe crimes.
