Army starts school for Gujjar and Bakarwal children

Ramban, Sep 23 To mitigate the hardships faced by the children of Gujjar and Bakarwal considering their nature of living and frequent move during summer, Indian Army started a school for Gujjar and Bakarwal children at Sanasar village of Patnitop Tehsil of Ramban District. Books and stationery items were distributed to the students. Mid-day meal was also provided to students for the entire duration. The school started by the Indian Army with an aim of bridging the gap, develop bonding and cohesiveness between Indian Army and weaker section of society and to make them aware about the importance of education. A large number of students enrolled in this school. The teacher of the school and top three students were felicitated in the closing ceremony of school. COVID appropriate behaviour had been strictly implemented in the school. Besides, school also became source of empowerment for a village teacher who is part of the community. With such kinds of events taking place in Ramban district, the image of the Indian Army has risen to a greater level and has created a tremendous impact on the civil population to achieve greater goal of national integration.
