Jammu, Sep 21 Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP & KP Leader and Incharge: Deptt of political feedback, BJP-J&K took up the issue of Relief holders with the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha. In his letter, Chrungoo also lauded the statement of the LG regarding peace in Kashmir. He said, "This gives me immence happiness and satisfaction that the government has finally expressed its resolve, publicly, that it won't buy peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Your following statement is a great reassurance to the nationalist constituency in Jammu and Kashmir which states unambiguously that there was a time when attempt was made to buy peace but with change in the situation there has been a shift in the policy as well. 'That time is now gone. Now the administration is trying to maintain and establish peace in Kashmir. This is the major shift in the policy along with change in the situation in Kashmir. All those involved in anti-national activities or trying to create hurdles in peace will be strictly dealt with. No one will be allowed to harm unity and sovereignty of the country. We won’t hesitate in dealing sternly with those involved in anti-national activities and the elements creating hurdles in the path of peace in Jammu and Kashmir. The Government wants peace and brotherhood to be maintained in the UT'. You also said 'that the Kashmiri Pandits, who were driven away from Kashmir by Pakistansponsored terrorism in 1989-90, leaving behind their homes and hearths, will get back their property within a time limit', adding 'the Government will help them to get their property within a timeframe and resettle them'.........'The Kashmir culture is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits'. I express my gratitude to you on behalf of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits for the positive assertions that you made a couple of days back. While you and your government are so sincerely taking up the cause of the nation and the Kashmiri Pandits, I regret to point out that the UT administration has failed to resolve the issue of the seizure of the Bank account of the Relief organisation under the orders of the honourable Court. Even after a reasonable time, there seems to be a deadlock prevailing. It is pointed out that as a consequence of the seizure of the Bank account, the displaced relief holders and the employees appointed under the PM Employment package have been put to great difficulties over a month now. Their relief hasn't been released nor have the salaries been credited in the accounts of the employees. It is an acute situation that requires your immediate intervention for redressal of the issue urgently. Or in the alternative, I make an earnest appeal to you to use your discretionary powers and set aside a two months budget in this regard out of the Contingency Fund of the Government established under Article 267(2) of the Constitution so that the issue is temporarily resolved till the final judgement of the honourable court.
