Secy NFCH reviews implementation of rehabilitation of militancy affected children scheme

YB News Srinagar, Sep 21 The Secretary of National Foundation for Communal Harmony, Government of India, Manoj Pant on Tuesday held a meeting to review the implementation of a programme for assistance to militancy affected children for their rehabilitation, career and skill development counseling, here. The meeting was cochaired by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K pole and was attended by DG Social Welfare Department, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Srinagar and DSWO Srinagar in person while officers from other districts participated virtually. During the meeting, Secretary NFCH said that the organization is providing financial assistance to the children of age below twenty five years and belonging to the family with income less than two lakh per annum affected by militancy and communalism. He said that there are 1771 children eligible to avail the assistance from NFCH. However, he said that more than fifty percent of the eligible children from J&K are missing from the enrolment list and enjoined upon DCs and DSWOs to conduct surveys and identify the eligible children. He said these children are vulnerable.
