Father flogs 3-year-old for rejecting food as mother looks on smiling, probe on over viral video

Hyderabad, Sep 21 Police in Medak district of Telangana have registered a suo motu case against a man who mercilessly flogged his three-year-old child and the incident was caught on camera. The video shows Nagaraju flogging the toddler with a rope and slamming her on the ground after lifting her by the neck. The clip later went viral on social media, prompting the police to launch an investigation. The man seen in the video has been identified as 32-year-old municipal contract worker M Nagaraju. The video was shot by his neighbour on Sunday night when Nagaraju was miffed after his daughter refused to have food. The girl's mother, Vennala, who was also present at home during the flogging was seen smiling in the video instead of trying to stop her husband from thrashing the child. Police have registered a case against the father under Section 324 of IPC and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
