New Delhi, Sep 21 Chetan Sakariya’s meteoric rise in the past six months has been a story for the ages. After an impressive performance in the first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals, the youngster got a maiden call up for Team India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka and went on to make his international debut. The 23-year-old is upbeat about the second leg of the IPL and said that he will back his strength to do well. “In the first leg I just focussed on my variations and just backed my strengths. I swing the new ball and bowl slower ones and variations with the old ball,” said Sakariya. “I would look to stick to the basics, line and length, as long as the wicket is fresh,” he added. Rajasthan Royals will face Punjab Kings on Tuesday in Dubai.
