In continuing with the same spirit, an awareness drive for villagers on the topic "First Aid and Health issues" to commemorate World First Aid and Health Care Day was conducted in District Kishtwar (J&K). The aim of this programme was to impart basic knowledge on providing first aid and managing cases of snake bite, fractures, burn injuries and control of bleeding in case of minor accident. Villagers were taught about First Aid measures to be adopted in such circumstances and thereby save life or limb. A large number of Villagers attended the same. This initiative by Indian Army was highly appreciated by the villagers and they expressed their gratitude for the knowledge imparted to them. Such events definitely have a lasting impact on villagers of remote and inaccessible areas who are devoid of basic medical facilities.
