New Delhi, May 7 Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar said his teammates and support staff did not panic even as positive Covid-19 cases were reported in their camp before Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was suspended. Deepak Chahar, an integral member of CSK, said the team management asked the rest of the players and support staff to isolate as soon as the positive case was reported, adding that the entire team handled the situation well. CSK were the second team to report positive Covid-19 cases in their bio-bubble in Delhi. Bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji tested positive following which Michael Hussey also contracted the virus. Notably, the two support staff have been flown to Chennai via an air ambulance for treatment even as the others left for their homes earlier this week. MS Dhoni reportedly stayed back until all his teammates made their way out of the hotel, which was part of the biobubble in Delhi. "Once some reports came positive, the team management told us to isolate. We had tests everyday and reports came negative, so that was a big relief. But none of the players panicked and everyone handled it well," Chahar told Sportstar. "No protocols were breached. But obviously, I don't know what went wrong. It is really difficult to say, because all the players followed the bubble strictly. When you create a bubble from one city to another, it may be a difficult task. But I am not in a position to say, what exactly happened," Chahar added. Chahar was in top form in IPL 2021, picking up 8 wickets in 7 matches as CSK were at the 2nd spot of the points table before the season was suspended.
