CORONA PANDEMIC - SYSTEM IN SHAMBLES
Dear Editor, Through the columns of your esteemed paper I like to highlight the non-seriousness of the present government in maintaining the supplies of essentialities required for present Corona crises. It has been a horrifying few days for India, with medical supplies running low and a surge in Covid-19 cases threatening to overwhelm the medical structure. Reports and visuals from various parts of the country show queues outside both hospitals and crematoriums. This is the horrifying picture after 2nd wave of corona. Country running shortage of Corona Vaccine, Remdesivir (in much demand), and the most needed oxygen. We were exporting PPE kits when our Doctors needed it, we exported 5.84 Crore doses of Covid-19 Vaccines to 70 Countries, when it was direly needed for our countrymen, during last 6 months we exported close to 11 lakh Remdesivir injections and a recent ‘Money control report’ revealed that even as the pandemic raged, India had more than doubled oxygen exports (Search Engines). Now we are looking to import Sputnik V corona virus vaccines from Russia and exploring possibilities to import oxygen from the globe. The Government may come with a lame excuse for all the exports that during the period, these exports were made; we have come over the Corona. But we are not foolish enough not to understand that the present government owing to its majority has taken us for granted. It is one man's show to propagate himself as savior of all mankind on earth and incarnation of God after Rama Avtar. Let good sense prevail upon our elected government to save its countrymen from the present crisis. Mahadeep Singh Jamwal 16/198 Udhampur
