TN: HRC seeks report from medical director, dean over death of 4 patients

Vellore, Apr 21 Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Director of Medical Education (DME) over the death of four patients in Vellore Government Medical College Hospital. The four patients allegedly died due to problem in oxygen supply reaching them. The notice seeks for a detailed report from DME, Kilpauk and Dean of Vellore medical college hospital within 2 weeks. The four victims allegedly died on Monday due to suffocation after oxygen supply to to the victims was dropped. The families of the deceased have alleged that there was a shortage in the oxygen supply. They claim that the issue began in the afternoon but nothing was done to rectify it. Meanwhile, the District Collector of Vellore Shanmuga Sundaram has said that the patients had died due to some other reasons.
