CEO BDA holds meet with Katra hoteliers

Y B News Jammu, Apr 20 A meeting was organised at Shrine Board Spiritual Growth centre Katra in which CEO Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) Rajinder Khajuria, a delegation of Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra comprising of its President Rakesh Wazir, Sr. Vice President Virender Kesar, Asstt. director Tourism Katra Ambika Bali and other groups participated. The meeting was focussed on promotion of tourism in Bhaderwah through gateway of Katra, Vaishno Devi. Bhaderwah has become a favorite tourist destination for many tourists throughout India in the last few years. It's high altitudes, snow capped mountains, beautiful sight scenes, forests, rivers, hospitality etc. has attracted lakhs of tourists, especially in the last 5 years. Rajinder Khajuria, CEO Bhaderwah Development Authority, while chairing the meeting opened its basket of options that are available to the tourists visiting the beautiful region of Jammu division. He also presented the future improvements and possibilities from tourism point of view which included para gliding, rafting, yoga centres, skiing, zip lines etc. Rajinder emphasised on the fact that Bhaderwah as a tourist destination has changed from what it was and will change further to suit the expectation of tourists in the times to come. He called for suggestions and open heartedly accepted the genuine ones. Rakesh Wazir shared some experiences with the meeting participants and also presented his suggestions. He said that fooding has been a problem in Bhaderwah as getting good food is a problem for the tourists to which BDA, CEO said it's already been sorted in last 3 years and varities of food is on the table for the tourists with different tastes. Wazir further suggested on improving hotels and guesthouses, inviting people of mutual interest to Bhaderwah for its promotion, role of media in promoting Bhaderwah as a major tourist place. He also appreciated the services provided by BDA properties in Bhaderwah to the potential tourists. Virender Kesar of Hotel and Reastaurant Association welcomed the move by BDA, Department of Tourism and other stake holders who made the meeting a success. He said such meeting will mark the business relation between Katra and Bhaderwah as Katra has with Kashmir and Himachal.
