Dr Tahir hails PM’s decision to allow vaccination above 18

Y B News Jammu, Apr 20 Urging people to follow appropriate COVID-19 behavior to combat the spread, the spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir unit spokesperson Dr Tahir Chowdhary hails decision of union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for expanding vaccination drive and allowing inoculation of all adults. Dr Tahir Chowdhary said that this is a welcome step in the backdrop current situation and rising cases in second wave. “Opening up vaccination for all adults is extremely important to address this second wave. In the second wave we are seeing the younger population being affected. So if the younger population gets vaccinated then it will combat the spread,” Dr Tahir said. He added that the move will also enhance the pace of vaccination and soon will celebrate independence from COVID-19. Urging people to become conscious about the infection, Dr Tahir said that the virus is alarmingly spreading and it is important that everyone take care of themselves. He advises to wear the mask properly and think about your family members and people around you. “Wear mask properly and use the sanitizer as well as maintain social distancing completely,” Dr Tahir appeals people. He asked people even following guidelines after vaccination. “Getting vaccinated does not mean that you are completely protected from the infection. But it means that your body is adequately equipped if it comes in contact with the virus,” he added. Terming COVID-19 an unprecedented challenge, Dr Tahir said that India is fighting against COVID in a well-planned manner under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the entire world has recognized efforts. He added that PM Modi has provided decisive leadership in asking Indians to stay home for three weeks until 14 April so that we as a nation are collectively able to defeat this global coronavirus pandemic in the first wave. He said that similarly we will win battle against COVID in the second wave as well.
