Police goes tough against Covid-10 protocol violators

Katra, Apr 19 The world has entered the second year and second stage of covid-19. And, this time the virus is much swift and much deadlier. India too going through most corona cases of all times and in Jammu and Kashmir, the cases are on rise as well. In the holy town of Katra, Sri Mata Vaishno Devi, the fight against covid-19 has started again with mind and might. The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Katra since last few days is doing round the clock announcements directing pilgrims as well as locals to adhere to government directions regarding corona virus. One could easily find a police van going through the roads of Katra town directing people to wear masks, sanitise hands and maintain social distancing. On Monday, Police team of Katra was on roads chalaning people without masks or wearing mask but not properly. SP Katra Amit Bhasin, SDPO Kuljeet Singh and SHO Katra Sunil Sharma led the whole team and setup different nakas and various places of Katra town. In total, 123 people were challaned and an amount of Rs. 26,200 was generated. People who were wearing proper masks were given chocolates and words of appreciation by the Police team. Apart from that, Senior Congress Leader and Ex MLA Reasi Jugal Kishore Sharma spoke to DC Reasi Ajay Kumar Sharma over the phone and made him aware of the fact that Katra is lacking in covid facilities as locals are suffering from virus and the trend is increasing. DC Ajay Kumar Sharma assured him of quick action so that people of Katra could be treated well in times to come.
