MEA JAISHANKAR IN DUBAI TO DISCUSS ECONOMIC AND BILATERAL COOPERATION WITH HIS COUNTERPART SHEIKH ABDULLAH

New Delhi, Apr 19 India's External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar, landed in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, 18 April 2021. Dr Jaishankar is on an official visit to discuss bilateral and economic cooperation with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Over the floating speculations, Dr Jaishankar's visit to the UAE also coincides with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Although there is no meeting scheduled between the Indian and Pakistani sides, UAE has previously played a critical mediator between the two neighbours, going by numerous reports, leading to the ceasefire agreement being restored along the Line of Control. India has told Pakistan that it desires normal neighbourly relations with Islamabad in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence. It has led to speculations over the UAE Foreign minister as the mediator between India and Pakistan.
