Y B News Jammu, Apr 19 In a unique and first kind of the move to benefit the larger community of students who for various reasons are unable to receive proper skill development training, and taking forward its commitment to help a larger section of society, the famed IEC University, has decided to welcome students from other universities and engineering colleges to receive critical skill development and up-gradation training at its famed skill development centers. IECU’s skill development centers have been established in collaboration with renowned national and international companies such as ARB Bearings and sports giants Shiv-Naresh, IBM, BMW, Honda, etc, whereby students are provided rigorous skill development training on real latest machines and in a factory- type environment so that students get industry-ready from early on. For example, at its mechanical skill development centers, the students get to learn at real BMW engines. Such real-life training also help the industry to get properly skilled students whereby they do not have to deploy trainers and other resources to train new recruits. It results in huge savings in terms of time and resources. IECU has been amongst the first to implement the critical objective of NEP whereby the focus is as much on practical training and learning’s as it is on classroom theoretical teaching. This is also in sync with the long-standing demand of industry to adequately and properly train students to be industry-ready rather than focusing on just bookish theoretical knowledge. IECU’s offer comes against the backdrop of the fact that there are many bright students in other institutions and universities who are unable to receive proper skill development training due to various reasons – be it the location of their current institution, or lack of industry-institution coordination. And due to the absence of adequate industry-skills, they find it difficult to get placement in good companies. But all that can change if they receive proper training which is in demand by the industry. As IECU has developed world-class training centers in collaboration with prestigious global and national names, it thought it appropriate to extend its facilities to a larger community of students and help them make a better career.
