Army organises lecture on safe roads save lives

Rajouri, Apr 18 An awareness lecture on “Road Safety and Prevention” was organised by Indian Army at Government Higher Secondary School, Kakora in District Rajouri (J&K). The audience was guided about wearing of the helmets and seat belts while traveling. If correctly used, seat belts can reduce the risk of death in a crash by 61% and use of helmets can reduce fatal and serious head injuries by up to 45%. The traffic rule and sign board were displayed for easy understanding of the audience. The speaker also appealed students and civilian to obey traffic rules, avoid drinking and not to talk on mobile calls while driving. The attendees took pledge to obey all traffic rules for road safe. The students, teachers and villagers applauded the efforts of Indian Army in spreading awareness about such critical issues.
