Y B News Jammu, Apr 18 Panun Kashmir held a meeting of its Core Committee today to deliberate upon the recent political developments in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President Panun Kashmir Virender Raina and was attended by the General Secretary (Org.) Kamal Bagati, General Secretary Upinder Koul, Convenor PK Youth Sameer Bhat, Treasurar Ashok Chrungoo, and P.K.Bhan among others. Panun Kashmir strongly condemns the recent attempts by certain groups to confuse and mislead the displaced Kashmiri Pandit diaspora. On the one hand these individuals are part of the group who tried to conjure a situation of normalcy in Kashmir and at the same time criticise the same dispensation which was instrumental in removing Art. 370 and 35-A. President Panun Kashmir Virender Raina said that the conditions in Kashmir are far from normal and there is a need to provide adequate security grid to all those KP boys and girls who have gone there to serve under the employee’s package. Virender Raina made it amply clear that the employees’ package need not be mixed with the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley. Employees Package is an economic measure meant for the immediate survival of the community and needs to be differentiated from the permanent return of the community to Kashmir. Raina said that KPs return to Kashmir is a most critical political issue which needs to be dealt with politically at the highest level. The return of KPs to Kashmir has historical and civilizational imperatives and needs to be dealt with the same importance and urgency. We have made it abundantly clear that the return and rehabilitation in Kashmir is only possible by addressing the geopolitical aspirations of Kashmiri Pandits with the creation of a separate Homeland with Union Territory status. The creation of KP Homeland in Kashmir would also act as a bulwark against the hostile forces of China and Pakistan and would be a great strategic move against the separatist forces. Kamal Bagati while speaking on the occasion said that it was heartening to learn that there is a global consciousness amongst the various sections of the KP diaspora regarding the pathetic condition of the temples in Kashmir. The concern was also mentioned by the RSS Sarkaryavah in his speech to the KP community on the occasion of Navreh. We appeal to the government to bring a bill for the protection and the preservation of the temples in Kashmir.
