Customized Livelihood Generation Scheme – Mumkin DDC Kathua chairs maiden meeting of DLIC

Y B News Kathua, Apr 16 District Development Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav today chaired the maiden meeting of District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to discuss modalities for the implementation of Customized Livelihood Generation Scheme “Mumkin- New Possibilities” in the district here at DC office complex. At the outset, the DDC called upon the members to create adequate awareness about the scheme so that eligible candidates can avail its benefits. The Deputy Director, Employment & Counseling Centre,(Nodal Officer) apprised the meeting that a list of eligible unemployed youth has been made which will be submitted for approval when the portal will go live in the coming days. Other members who attended the meeting included, General Manager, DIC, ARTO Kathua, Lead Bank Manager Kathua. Pertinently, Government of JK UT has launched Customized Livelihood Generation scheme ‘Mumkin’ on 27th November 2020. Under the scheme eligible youth of J&K shall be encouraged to start a sustainable livelihood in the transport sector by providing financial assistance for purchase of small commercial vehicles like taxis, mini bus, light commercial vehicles, tempo and other modes of transportation of similar nature under public carrier permit. The scheme is being implemented by Mission Youth, J&K through district level committees constituted for the purpose. Later, the DDC also took detailed review of the Physical and financial progress achieved under the Back to Village-3 programme in the district. Threadbare discussion was held on the status of tender and execution of different development works undertaken under third edition of back to village programme in different Panchayat halqas of the district. The DDC also laid stress on the submission of remaining estimates of works so that proposed works can be completed within stipulated time frame. H directed Engineers of works departments to strengthen their men and machinery to execute the works on time with special focus on quality of works. Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; ACD, Narayan Dutt; CEO Kathua and Engineers of works department and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting. Under back to village-3 programme, the government has sanctioned Rs 10 Lakh to each Pancahyat Halqa to take up development works of public importance on priority.
