Black sheep nabbed: heroine seized

Katra, Apr 6 Reasi Police is committed to keep holy town of Katra free from drug abuse. Perusing this goal Police Jawans deployed at Police Check Post Nomain during rigorous checking stopped three persons riding on motorcycle CBZ bearing registration No. JK20-4094, from Domail to Katra, searched and recovered 39 grams of Heroine from the possession of (1) Mohd Majid S/O Abdul Gani R/O Kans Khassan, Reasi (2) Shiv Nandan S/O Surinder Sharma R/O Reasi (3) Rohit Arora S/O Madan Lal R/O W. No. 09 Reasi. All the three accused are arrested. While following the laid down procedures, all the banned material was seized and sealed on the spot after taking due samples for expert opinion of Forensic Science Laboratory. The banned material has been resealed through Tehsildar Katra i.e Executive Magistrate and will be sent to Forensic Science Laboratory Jammu. Reasi Police has been dealing with iron hand of law to deal with drug peddlers and abusers. The long arm of law has successfully caught the black sheep, Selection Grade Constable Mohd Majid red handed with the custody of banned drug along with his accomplice. Reasi Police will leave no stone unturned to address the challenge of drug abuse. Eight FIR’s have been lodged under NDPS Act and 12 accused persons arrested in last two weeks. FIR No. 66/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act registered at P/S Katra and investigation has been initiated. SSP Reasi, Sh. Shailender Singh JKPS has instructed SDPO for recording interrogation report of all the three accused persons and dig out all the backward linkages of drug peddlers and also prepare the list of consumers of the banned drug of the area in the forward linkages and accordingly investigated that too. SP Katra has been directed to personally supervise the investigation of the case on day to day basis.
