Natrang organises a lecture cum interaction programme

Jammu, Apr 5 With the aim to provide a comprehensive orientation about theatre so that maximum benefits from it may be extracted in terms of personality development and refinement of acting skills, Natrang organised a lecture cum interaction programme for young theatre entrants at its Studio Theatre. Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor at University of Jammu and a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, a National Award for Theatre Direction was the resource- person who interacted with youngsters and discussed different aspects of theatre. In his motivational lecture, Sumeet emphasized that Theatre has been acknowledged as one of the most effective tool for personality development all over the world. Because, to become a genuine actor, a person has to undergo various training modules which are aimed at enhancing his/her all-round capabilities, some of them are creativity, spontaneity, self-realization, confidence, team-spirit, discipline, punctuality, time management and a lot more. The outcome of theatre training is enhanced personalities, people who are aware of their strengths and limitations, better actors and above all, better human beings. He asserted that Theatre plays a vital role in public awareness and spreading the message in an impactful manner and it is extensively used to spread knowledge on specific topics and subjects. He also answered the pertinent queries of the participants. Those who attended the programme included Mahikshit Singh, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Kananpreet Kaur, Sagar Gupta, Sudanshu Isher, Bhrigu Sharma, Garu Ram, Rahul Gupta, Lovely Sharma, Gagan Sudan.
