Drug peddler held, contraband substance recovered

Sopore, Apr 5 Sopore police continuing its war against drug menace, arrested a drug peddler recovered contraband substance from his possession. Based on specific information, a police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi led by IC PP under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Sopore, laid a naka at Achabal Chowk and intercepted one person during his checking, 40 grams of charas and illicit liquor was recovered. The accused has been identified as Muhammad Altaf Lone S/O Abdul Khaliq Lone R/O Achabal Sopore. Accordingly case FIR No. 84/2021 under section 08/20 of NDPS Act was registered in police station sopore and further investigation has been taken up.
