Don't let opportunist undermine secular fabric of JK: Priya Sethi

Jammu, Apr 4 Former Minister and Incharge BJP H Q J & K Priya Sethi today asked the people of this Union Territory to beware of the communal politics alleged to be played by the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and the Congress. The former minister stated this while addressing a gathering during the 48th Annual Day celebrations at Shri Krishna Temple where she was the chief guest. Deputy Mayor JMC Advocate Purnima Sharma Corporator Sandya Gupta, Rajni Rohmetra, Savita Anand, Shalija Gupta, Vipan Sharma, Anita Gupta, Sudhir Anand, Sandeep Dogra, Anil Gupta, Gulshan Grover and Varsh were also present on the occasion. Besides, President of Shri Krishna Samiti Pratapgarh Mohalla Rajendra Kakar and Sant Munijees were also present. Pertinent to mention here that the Shri Krishna Temple was established about 300 years ago. Today’s programme was organized by Shri Krishna Sewa Samiti, Pratapgarh Jammu. While taking blessings of Mahant Arvind Muni Ji, Priya Sethi said that the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, now a Union Territory are known across the nation and worldwide for promoting humanism through the life based on the principles of love, amity and brotherhood. She said that this land has produced great seers and saints whose teachings the people follow in true spirit of human dwelling. She said, according to a legend, Jammu is the land where lion and a goat used to drink water from a river at the same point in perfect harmony and peace and this is the hallmark of the people of Jammu. The senior BJP leader said that every religion teaches people to live peacefully amid amity and brotherhood, besides serving the humanity irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion for which maintaining communal harmony is most essential. However, she lamented, “It is really unfortunate to witness this centuries’ old pluralistic ethos of J&K having become the worst casualty of communal politics being played by NC, PDP and Congress.”
