Drug peddler held, contraband substance recovered

Bandipora, Apr 4 Bandipora police continuing its war against drugs arrested a drug peddler near Gundbal Bridge and recovered large quantity contraband drugs from his possession. Based on specific information, a police party of Police station Bandipora led by SHO Ps Bandipora under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Mohmmad Idress -JKPS, during naka checking at Gundbal Bridge arrested one person along with 248 Capsules of Sposmoproxy-van, 230 Tablets of Alprozolam and 30 Injections of Tramadol . The accused has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Ganie @ Ubaid S/O Ab Ahad Ganie R/o Saloosa Kreeri Baramulla. During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the drugs had been supplied by one notorious drug peddler namely Bilal Ahmad Rather S/O Mohd Munawar Rather R/O Gamroo Bandipora. Efforts are on to nab him. Accordingly case FIR No. 42/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.
